Patrick Findeis
Patrick Findeis (* 1975 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German writer .
Life
After training as a dental technician , Findeis studied comparative literature , psychology and communication research at the University of Bonn . From 2003 to 2006 he attended the German Literature Institute in Leipzig .
The chapters of his novel No Beautiful Land appeared in the literary magazines Edit and Language in the Technical Age in 2007 and 2008 , and with another excerpt from the novel, he won the 3sat Prize of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (endowed with 7,500 euros) in 2008 . In the opinion of the juror Burkhard Spinnen , Findeis found a "coherent language [...] in which the contemporary problems of the characters and the old tragic motifs of the downfall fit together perfectly".
In 2014 and 2015, together with Dieter Bongartz , who has since passed away, he ran the SK Stiftung Kultur's Cologne writing school for young people , and has been its sole director since 2016.
