Art Prize for Literature Photography
The Art Prize for Literature Photography , awarded by the State of Brandenburg Lotto GmbH , honored outstanding authors and photographers from Berlin and Brandenburg every year from 2005 to 2016 .
background
Lotto Brandenburg has been promoting contemporary art since 1993. According to the company, the aim of this commitment is to contribute to the diversity and vitality of art. Until 1998 Lotto Brandenburg supported artists in the creation of their catalogs. The company then awarded work grants for photographers from 1999 to 2003. In 2005 the invitation to tender for the Literature Photography Art Prize started. Lotto Brandenburg awarded prize money of 10,000 euros for each art form. An independent jury of experts could nominate up to two art award winners per category, among whom the prize money was divided. Only artists who had their artistic focus and residence in Berlin and Brandenburg were allowed to apply.
Art Prize for Literature
The Literature Art Prize was aimed at writers. Books from the literary fields of prose and poetry that had appeared in the current year or in the previous year were eligible for application. According to Lotto Brandenburg, the following works were excluded from the tender: works of drama, essays, translations, non-fiction books, scripts, self-published books (or self-published), e-books and manuscripts.
