Career

She has been on stage since 2002, among other things she has played in the Wiener Schauspielhaus , Theater Drachengasse , Wiener Volkstheater and at the Landestheater Niederösterreich . Galli often appears in television films and series . She also works as a speaker in radio plays and literary productions, especially for the radio station Ö1 . She has been writing her own songs since 2012. With Hans Wagner , the frontman of the Viennese band Neuschnee , she has been working on her debut album since 2017, which was released in early 2019 under the title “Superland”. As the singer Pippa, Galli juggles between pop, rock, chanson and 80s NDW, but she doesn't want to "take any role models as best she can". A mixture of hope and sadness, children's language and social criticism are, according to her own statement, important motives for Pippa. The single Egal (ft. Nora Mazu) of their second album Idiotenparadies stayed in the FM4 charts for six weeks and reached number 10.

reception

“She has a disarmingly authentic effect in her music. Their songs strive for simple, clear language. No compulsory rhymes, no compulsory originality block the melancholy. "

- Karl curse

"As Pippa, Pippa Galli is looking for poetry in dreariness, beauty in public housing on her debut album."

- Marco way

“[...] the mood fluctuates between melancholy and lightness. While the faster songs seem a bit interchangeable, ballads like 'Anna' or 'Transdanubia' are all the more appealing. "

- Sebastian Fasthuber
