The Bremen Town Musicians is a German fairytale film from 2009 from the series Eight in One Stroke . The film is based on Grimm's fairy tale Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten .
action
The decrepit donkey, the blind dog, the tired cat and the vain and old rooster live on the farm of the farmer Georg. When the farmer wants to marry his daughter Lissi to the farmer Hans Sittler in order to come to his fields, Lissi tells her father and stepmother, secretly Johann, to love the farmer's servant. The stepmother then plans to sell the farmhand to her cousin Adam in Bremen, who is going to sea for at least the next year, and to process the four animals into soup and sausage.
While the stepmother locks Lissi in the attic and forces Johann to go to sea, the animals decide to go to Bremen and become town musicians there. While Lissi fled to look for Johann, he was caught by robbers on his way to Bremen and forced by them to work for them.
On her way to Bremen, Lissi meets the animals. You and the animals continue on their way together. Little did they know that they were being followed by the farmer and his wife, as well as by the skinner who was supposed to process the donkey into sausage. The knacker tries to kidnap the donkey, but is put to flight by Lissi and the animals. Lissi and the animals come across the house of the robbers on their way. The animals succeed in chasing the robbers away with their song. You can also free Johann, whom the robbers tied up after a failed attempt to escape.
Meanwhile, the farmer and his wife are kidnapped by the robbers and forced to check on the robber's house. There they are mistaken for predators by the animals and chased away.
While Lissi and Johann can marry with the robbers' gold, Hans Sittler marries the rich farmer's daughter Suse. The animals begin to practice singing and delight the guests at the wedding with a song that tells their story.

Reviews
"Well-detailed, solidly played variation of the well-known fairy tale, quite amusing thanks to the prominent speakers of the animals (Peter Striebeck, Bastian Pastewka, Harald Schmidt, Hannelore Elsner)."
