Six in one stroke or eight in one stroke (title of the 2nd season) is a German film series of the First German Television with film adaptations of fairy tales or motifs from fairy tales, stories and poems by the Brothers Grimm , Hans Christian Andersens , Ludwig Bechsteins , Božena Němcovás , Christoph Martin Wielands , ETA Hoffmanns , Hoffmann von Fallersleben and Hans Falladas .
In addition to this film series, there is also the fairy tale film series Märchenperlen , a similar series on ZDF .
background
The first showed the older fairy tale films by Schongerfilm and DEFA in a shortened 60-minute version in its morning program until 2008 . That is why the editorial team suggested that we film six Grimm fairy tales from scratch and see how the audience felt about it. First, the title should be "Seven in one go". But since that is already the saying with the brave little tailor, one considered which other numbers are related to fairy tales, and then came up with the number six.
The 60-minute films are based on the classic traditions , but have been modernized in narrative style and content. Outdated statements and symbols from the original version have been reinterpreted or supplemented to take into account the linguistic perception of the present.
Several state broadcasters were responsible for the production, which was created with the help of many well-known German actors from film and television . In the federal states involved, old palaces and castles as well as unspoilt landscapes were selected as locations. Historical costumes give the films additional authenticity .
From 2010 to 2014, while maintaining the series title Six in One Stroke, only four fairy tales per year were filmed. In 2015, six fairy tale films were made for the first time, but again only four films celebrated their premiere at Christmas. The other two fairy tale films were shown together with two fairy tale films from the following year, Christmas 2016. In spring 2017, two new fairy tale films were announced for the Christmas program in the same year, and it stayed that way. For the first time, only two new fairy tales were filmed in the same year and then shown at Christmas.
Charisma
The first broadcasts the new fairy tale films for the first time in the Christmas program of the respective production year. There are regularly two repetitions on Sunday mornings in the fairy tale film in the first. This is broadcast alternately with "Always again on Sundays". On public holidays like Christmas , Easter or Whitsun , fairy tale films from this series are almost always included in the first.
At irregular intervals there are repetitions in the third TV programs and in the Sunday fairy tale , which begins every Sunday at 12 noon.
templates
Most of the films were made one after the other with fairy tales or motifs by the Brothers Grimm . Followed by Hans Christian Andersen , who provided the templates for six fairy tales. In third place, Ludwig Bechstein provided the template for two fairy tale films. ETA Hoffmann , Christoph Martin Wieland , Theodor Storm , Johann Wilhelm Wolf / Wilhelm Busch and Josef Wenzig each provided the templates for one film adaptation .
For the Christmas program in 2020 was with Strong Hans another Tales of the Brothers Grimm already filmed in October 2019 - with Helene, the true bride is the third time a fairy tale motifs by Bechstein on the program. In addition, "The Story of the Golden Thaler" is the first time a fairy tale by Hans Fallada is filmed that comes from his fairy tale collection, Tales from Murkelei from 1938.
