Minxin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The film production company Minxin ( Chinese  民 新 製造 影 畫片 有限公司  /  民 新 制造 影 画片 有限公司 , Pinyin Mínxīn Zhìzào Yǐnghuàpiān Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī ) or China Sun Film Company was an early Chinese film company .

It was founded in 1922 by Li Minwei (Lai Man-wai) in Hong Kong . In 1926 she moved to Shanghai after film production in Hong Kong had become almost impossible due to economic uncertainties. In the late 1920s, Minxin ran into financial difficulties and could no longer hold its own against its main competitors, the large Mingxing film company and other film studios. Li Minwei's friend Luo Mingyou helped save society by founding the new Lianhua company , one of the great studios of the 1930s, and absorbing Minxin in 1930. In 1936, Li Minwei took over Lianhua Studio No. 1 and made it the basis of a new Minxin independent film company.
