Hinkebein is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The film was produced by WDR and broadcast for the first time on March 11, 2012 almost simultaneously by the stations Das Erste , ORF 2 and SF 1 . It is the 831st episode in the crime scene series, the 21st case with Axel Prahl and Jan Josef Liefers as Münster investigators Thiel and Boerne .

action

Katja Braun, a former criminal police officer , is found dead on the street. Thiel and Boerne take over the investigation. There are parallels to a case a few years ago in which the dead woman was an investigator. The pimp Heinz Kock, who is called "Hinkebein" due to a walking disability , was suspected at the time of having killed an Eastern European prostitute. However, he was able to evade arrest and became a Buddhist after a long stay in Vietnam . But now he's reappeared in town.

Boerne knew the woman who had been killed from earlier work and had a relationship with her at the time. She was dismissed from the police force due to her alcohol addiction and now worked for hours as a cleaning lady in a restaurant. One day before her death, she had visited Boerne in his institute and asked him for 1,000 euros for an additional rent payment. During the autopsy, the Wischnewsky spots found revealed that Katja must have frozen to death. The further investigations by Thiel show that she had different lovers in the past. In the meantime, Hinkebein suddenly appears in the apartment of forensic doctor Boerne and threatens him with a weapon. After a nightly chase to a cinema, Thiel arrested "Hinkebein".

Other suspects include Katja Braun's ex-husband, who works as a driver in a butcher's shop, as well as their allegedly joint and highly gifted daughter Marie, who is housed in a Catholic boarding school. The culprit ultimately convicted is the head of the press office in the police headquarters. He, too, once had a relationship with Katja Braun and turns out to be Marie's biological father, as he has the same rare lineage of iris heterochromia . He had previously worked for the custom and had strangled the prostitute. During the investigation against Heinz Kock at that time, with the help of Katja Braun, he had placed evidence in the hotel room of the killed prostitute in order to incriminate the pimp.

background

The film was shot at various locations in Münster . The taxi rank is in front of the main train station . In the scene in which Boerne withdraws money, the diocesan library and the Überwasserkirche can be seen. The restaurant Westfälischer Hof shown in the film is the restaurant Kleiner Kiepenkerl in the historic city center of Münster. The body is found on the Munster Aa between the Aegidiimarkt and the Überwasserkirchplatz. Boerne's inner-city sports car ride was also recorded between Domplatz and Überwasserkirche. The scenes in the cinema were created in the listed castle theater . The farewell to the Russian delegation was recorded in front of the castle , with the Überwasserkirche and the cathedral in the background . The boarding school shown in the film is the Wasserburg Adendorf , which is often used for filming. Further recordings were made in Cologne . This includes the scene of the motorcycle theft, which was filmed on Maastrichter Straße on the corner of Brussels Square. Filming began on September 27, 2011 and ended in early November 2011.

The episode Hinkebein contains some movie quotes and musical allusions. For example, a scene from Die Drei von der Gasstelle can be seen in the cinema , which is accompanied by music from the most famous music title of the film operetta, A Friend, a Good Friend of the Comedian Harmonists . Herbert Thiel is also shown with a joint, while “The Passenger” by Iggy Pop can be heard. Finally, there are some dialogue allusions to two comedies by Ernst Lubitsch . As an alibi, Jörg Braun puts forward to have seen to be or not to be in the cinema, but Ninotschka was shown instead . From Boernes apartment is Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner heard. The Russian delegation visited the theater where the opera Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky will be listed. Heinz Kock's mother sings during her visit by Inspector Thiel Au clair de la lune .

Since this episode, Boerne has been driving a Wiesmann Roadster MF3 with 343 hp manufactured in Dülmen .

Reviews

Christian Buß criticized a weak act in Spiegel Online : “The WDR team skillfully keeps the tasteless gags from the tension between splatter horror and provincial farce at a high level [...]. The plot, however, keeps pace with this elegance, the plot has broken down more and more into a black and humorous number revue over the 21 episodes since 2002. ” On the other hand, Holger Gertz said on Süddeutsche.de that the crime scene was more of a“ crime scene blend, a parody that works very well because the dialogues are right. "

The editorial team of TV Spielfilm judged the film to be “entertaining, quirky, typically Münsteraner”. Prisma thinks Hinkebein is one of the better crime scene episodes. The presentation of the main roles as well as the supporting roles, including Großmann, Urspruch, Clausnitzer and Kempter, were praised. The editors considered forgivable that the logic of the episode fell by the wayside, giving it three out of five points. Wolf Senff from the title magazine disagreed and criticized the seemingly constructed plot. “The latest ARD 'Tatort' from Münster convinces with little silliness, a good story and strong supporting actors” and thus gives the viewer an “entertaining Sunday evening”, can be read in Focus . This opinion is shared by the editorial staff of the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung , whose verdict, according to the scriptwriters, was "a feat" by combining weird humor with a touch of tension ". Her conclusion is: “A crime story shop can hardly be much more entertaining. Only the dissolution is underground. "

Rainer Tittelbach's verdict is: “The story always has to be artificially bent so that the games of the unequal duo can unfold. Good cast, solid direction, a smirking thriller that is great to look away, which has some nice allusions ready for film history lovers. ”Tilmann P. Gangloff, on the other hand, is also impressed by the script, the episode“ shines with many good ideas and an astonishingly complex story ”. Matthias Ring wrote in the Stuttgarter Zeitung : “After eight out of twenty-one cases, one can get the impression that even the character inventors Jan Hinter and Stefan Cantz no longer deal so easily with the special humor of the people of Münster. At least dialogues like “You have a good heart” - “Yes, my cardiologist is very satisfied with me” or sayings like “I take that on my head” after the public prosecutor helped the suspect to escape with a smoke break, yes tried hard. "

The Focus judges: “What would a Münster crime scene be without murder? Answer: Still big. Without Boerne and Thiel, however, everything would be nothing. The two Tatort Marx Brothers are indispensable not only in their latest case, Hinkebein. [...] Of course, Münster is a crime scene. The best we have. "
