Peter Dehler

Peter Dehler (* 1963 in Leipzig ) is a German playwright and director .

Life

Peter Dehler received professional training as an electrician after completing the 10th grade . At the age of 17 he became a member of the rock band »Knäckebrot«. This was followed by appearances as a songwriter and actor at the "Poetic Theater Louis Fürnberg" in Leipzig, where he also worked as a director and technician. From 1986 to 1990 he was a student at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Dehler was acting director at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin from 1999 to 2016 .

In the summer of 2014, Dehler was the director of the Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek on the island of Rügen.

Peter Dehler has five children. He lives in Schwerin and Berlin .
