Züli Aladağ [aˈlaːdaː] (born January 2, 1968 in Van , Turkey ) is a German film director , film producer and screenwriter .

biography

Züli Aladağ came to Germany in 1973 and grew up in Stuttgart . After briefly studying theater studies in Munich , he completed a six-month internship at Roland Emmerichs Moon 44 in Stuttgart. It was followed by numerous collaborations with short, advertising, feature films and documentaries as a production assistant, location manager and assistant director . He later worked as an editor and co-director for semi-documentary TV series. He has been a producer since 1993 and has been working as a freelance filmmaker on documentaries and feature films since 1995. He is also often the author of her scripts. He graduated from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne in summer 1999.

His controversial integration drama Wut (2006), shot in 2005 , has won several awards.

In 2008 he directed a number of episodes of the television series The Lawyers and KDD - Criminal Continuous Service .

Aladağ is the founder of the Young European Cinema (jek) initiative . The filmmaker was married to Feo Aladağ from 2002 to 2012 , with whom he founded his own film production company in 2006. Aladağ has lived in Berlin since 2002.
