Feo Aladag
Feo Aladag [aˈlaːdaː] (actually Feodora Aladağ , nee Feodora Schenk ; born January 13, 1972 in Vienna ; also worked under her maiden name Schenk ) is an Austrian actress , director and screenwriter .
Life
From 1990 to 1995 Aladag completed an acting training in Vienna and London. At the same time she studied psychology and communication sciences at the University of Vienna . In 2000 she completed her studies with a doctorate. From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a film critic. From 2003 to 2005 she attended the Directing Master Class of Michael Radford and Mike Figgis at the European Film Academy. From 2004 to 2005 she attended the directing seminars of Stephen Frears , Mike Leigh , Fernando Solanas , Bertrand Tavernier and Peter Lilienthal at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin .
Aladag initially worked as an advertising film director and as a screenwriter for the crime scene, among others . As an actress, she starred in television films and feature films. In 2005 she founded Independent Artists Film Production together with director Züli Aladağ . The first major production was also the first directorial work. In 2008 she made the feature film Die Fremde with Sibel Kekilli . The film premiere was in the Panorama of the Berlin International Film Festival . The film received the German Film Prize in bronze and the German Film Critics' Prize in the categories of Best Feature Film , Best Feature Film Debut and Best Screenplay . Sibel Kekilli was awarded the German Film Prize for best leading actress. Die Fremde was nominated as a German entry for the Academy Award in the category Best Foreign Language Film . In the summer of 2013, Aladag shot her second feature film Between Worlds on original locations in Afghanistan. The film celebrated its world premiere in February 2014 as part of the competition at the 64th Berlinale 2014 .
The shooting of her first television film under the working title Exodus - Escape of the Children was completed in the early summer of 2016. The film will be broadcast on ZDF in autumn 2016.
Private
Feo Aladag was married to Züli Aladağ from 2002 to 2012 . She lives with her three children a. a. in Berlin.
