action
The chairman and hodscha of a Turkish community in Cologne, Cengiz Demirkan, has flown in a number of unmarried Turkish women from Turkey to provide single male members of his community with brides. The head of the immigration office in Cologne, Dr. Ludwig Sarheimer, wants to have the Turkish women expelled again as soon as possible, as none of the women speak German and the certificates presented about successfully completed language tests in Turkey are falsified. The requirement for entry authorization is the mastery of 300 and passive understanding of 650 words from the German language. While Lale Demirkan, the daughter of Cengiz Demirkan, introduces the Turkish women to the German language (as well as some fighting techniques) in a crash course, Lale Demirkan and the nephew of Dr. Sarheimer into each other, which leads to further entanglements. Meanwhile, Cengiz Demirkan has already chosen a wealthy Turkish entrepreneur as a husband for his daughter, who is rejected by her.
Despite all resistance, Lale Demirkan and Marc Rehmann come together, there are even offspring.
background
The shooting took place in Cologne , where the entire film also takes place. The film title is an allusion to an (invented) regulation in the German immigration law , according to which Turks who immigrate to Germany as part of family reunification have to prove in a language test that they can speak 300 different German words.
criticism
The film service describes the film as "[t] high-profile comedy, which counteracts key positions in the so-called integration debate with apt pun and psychological sensitivity". In doing so, "of course, she does not always succeed in convincingly breaking existing clichés by playing with prejudices".
song
During the credits , the song Orang Utan by Müslüm , better known as I'm a foreigner, an immigrant, plays .
