Vedat Erincin (* 1957 in Istanbul ) is a in Germany acting actor of Turkish origin. The co-founder of the Wuppertal Wupper Theater and former director of the Arkadaş Theater is dedicated to intercultural theater work.

Career

Erincin came to Germany in 1978 and began studying textiles here. In addition, he has already staged plays in Turkish associations. In 1986 he joined the Arkadaş Theater company as a professional actor. In 1991 he co-founded the Wupper Theater in Wuppertal, where he worked until 2003. He then returned to Arkadaş as an actor, director and children's theater writer, where he took over the management of the theater until 2006. Also radio play work as a speaker, u. a. in the WDR productions Fremde Heimat (1992) by Ismail Dogan and Nursel Köses Der Schlangenbrunnen (2000). Erincin was also part of the ensemble for the premiere of Sema Meray's Because of Honor (2008).

His first film and television appearances include the role of Kadir in Evet, I want! (2008). In the German-Turkish comedy film Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland , which was invited to the 2011 Berlinale competition program , he took on the leading role of old Hüseyin. In the same year he was nominated for the German Film Prize for his supporting role as an enlightened Islamic clergyman in Shahada .
