Reviews

The performance was described by WDR television as a "gripping and moving" production. The Kölnische Rundschau highlighted the piece's contribution "to the understanding of our fellow citizens living between two cultures". The daily newspaper praised the fact that the staging did not depend on the issue of honor killing in particular, it dealt "rather with the fundamental power of patterns and the difficulty of finding the right mix of approval and demarcation with them". The Turkish Cumhuriyet judged “by presenting the topic with its contradictions and in its complexity, on the one hand it sensitizes the audience, on the other hand it questions concepts such as custom, honor and respect”.
