Veit Schubert

Veit Schubert (* 1960 in Pirna ) is a German actor , director and lecturer in acting .

Life

Veit Schubert completed training as a primary school teacher from 1976 to 1980. From 1982 to 1986 he studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts , Rostock branch . He had his first engagement in 1986 at the Staatstheater Schwerin, where he played Leontes in “ Ein Wintermärchen ” and Wilhelm Tell in productions by Christoph Schroth , and where he stayed until 1989. In 1989 he joined the Berliner Ensemble with Schroth . Here he took part in over 50 productions by directors such as Manfred Wekwerth, Peter Palitzsch, Heiner Müller , Fritz Marquardt and Peter Zadek .

In 1998 he was appointed professor of drama at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin.

In 2007 he was a guest in productions at the Berliner Ensemble, including in "Richard III.", "Nathan the Wise", "Peer Gynt" and worked in film and television. Schubert also works as a director at various theaters in Germany. His younger brother Götz Schubert is also an actor.
