The film Amoklauf is an early low-budget production by Uwe Boll from 1994.
action
The film reflects excerpts from the life of a bitter waiter who, living alone and isolated from the outside world, develops an abysmal hatred of his fellow men. At home he watches endless repetitions of quiz shows and then finally moves on to brutal violence films that at least partially satisfy his lust for murder.
When the protagonist feels disturbed by his neighbor while masturbating , he first kills her with a knife, satisfies himself to the end and, freed from all inhibitions, starts a murderous campaign against everything human that moves.
Prices
The film was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize in 1994.
Reviews
In the lexicon of international films , it is judged that the film is by no means a " confrontation with overstimulation, loss of values and violence in an increasingly anonymous society, but a thoughtless string of extremely blatant scenes that are not aimed at knowledge but at the effect " act.
