Livia Matthes

Livia Matthes (born March 3, 1990 in Berlin ) is a German actress .

Life and career

Livia Matthes was born in Berlin . She grew up in Berlin-Schöneberg and Berlin-Kreuzberg and began acting as a child. Her first film role was in the Spanish movie Buscando a Eimish.

This was followed by leading episode roles in ARD and ZDF productions such as SOKO Stuttgart , SOKO Leipzig or the crime film Desire - Hunters in the Night and the crime series Der Kriminalist .

In 2015, Matthes gained international attention with her leading role in the Canadian spy thriller series X Company, which was broadcast on CBC Television and in numerous countries and received several awards. In this she played the role of Sabine Faber for three years, for which she received great reviews.

In the same year she played a leading role in the Dutch road movie J. Kessels , which opened the Dutch Film Festival .

Guest appearances on the US television series Sense8 and Homeland followed.

She took on the role of Heidi in the crime comedy Schweinskopf al dente , which was nominated as best film nationally for the Jupiter Film Award 2017.

In the movie Strassenkaiser , which ran in 2017 in the competition of the film festival for the Max Ophüls Prize and celebrated its premiere there, she was cast as Amelie in one of the leading roles.

Livia Matthes, who lives in Berlin and São Paulo , is fluent in English , French , and Brazilian Portuguese .
