reception

“Ecstasy, exhaustion, finiteness: Beat tells about it in exciting pictures and precisely because of this arouses hope that the Berlin nightlife, which has been declared dead over the decades, will continue. The corpse is still twitching. "

- Christian Buß : Spiegel

“As soon as the series relies on dialogue rituals and dramaturgical conventions, it becomes leisurely or implausible. It is thanks to Jannis Niewöhner and the other young actors and protagonists of the Berlin techno scene that their milieu is presented calmly and with self-irony. "

- Elena Witzeck : Frankfurter Allgemeine

“All in all, in the end the impression is that Kreuzpaintner may have wanted too much at once in his new Amazon series. If Beat is all about the earthly nightlife of Berlin instead of murder and conspiracy, the story certainly seems more refreshing - especially since the director's personal accents come into their own here. In the best case, of course, both succeed: a story full of tension and an atmosphere with authenticity. (...) With regard to the optics and the spectacle, there is little to complain about, so potential is definitely recognizable. "
