action

Susanne Podiak is married to the wealthy Christian. He regards his wife as his property, is jealous and regularly beats her brutally. Susanne wants to leave him, but is afraid of him and finally makes the decision to stage her suicide and start a new life. On a joint boat trip, she puts her plan into practice and makes everything look as if she has jumped over the railing. Her husband then declares her dead, but quickly finds evidence that she is still alive and hires a private investigator to track her down.

In truth, Susanne leaves the ship under a new identity and lives in an old wooden hut on a lake that belonged to her parents and decides to repair her father's ship. There she meets Michael, who also lives in the country, who saves her life, whereupon the two fall in love. From a friend who was also on the ship, she learns that Michael is actually the private detective her husband has hired.

Her husband finds her and ambushes her in her hut. He brutally beats her when she refuses to come back with him. Michael comes to her aid, but is knocked down by her husband. She escapes from the hut, her husband follows her and falls into the pointed parts of the anchor lying on the ground. He was fatally injured and fell into the water. Then Susanne says goodbye to Michael and sails away on her boat.

Reviews

“The plot reveals its narrow secret all too soon and confidently. [...] The rest is showdown action for the poor. "

"Constructed psychological thriller about a woman who thinks she is torn, goes from bad to worse and has to fight for her self-determination."
