Ben 10 is an American animated series . The series was produced by Cartoon Network Studios .
action
Ten-year-old Benjamin Tennyson spends his summer holidays with his grandfather Maxwell Tennyson and his cousin Gwendolyn Tennyson of the same age and expects a boring camping holiday in Grandpa's old motorhome. But on the very first night he finds an alien device that gives him the ability to transform into ten different aliens .
With these new powers he fights crime and protects the earth from hostile aliens. For him, his grandfather and his cousin, the summer holidays will be a great adventure. But soon he has to find out that this device, called Omnitrix , is being sought by an alien conqueror named Vilgax, who wants to use it to gain power over the entire universe. So it happens that Ben soon has to keep preventing Vilgax - and more and more other opponents - from getting his hands on the device while he tries to use the Omnitrix as a superhero .
characters
Protagonists
- Benjamin "Ben" Tennyson is a 10 year old who enjoys playing video games. At first he cannot handle the power of the Omnitrix because he is very playful and often a bit cocky and boastful. But he loves his family and is ready to do anything for them in an emergency.
- Gwendolyn "Gwen" Tennyson is Ben's ten-year-old cousin with whom he often argues. Unlike him, she is sensible and well-read, and secretly likes Ben, which she never admits openly. She is well versed in the martial arts , and as the series progresses, she also discovers her hidden magical talent .
- Maxwell "Max" Tennyson is Gwen and Ben's grandfather. At first he is just a nice old man who loves his mobile home and idiosyncratic kitchen. But later it turns out that he used to belong to a special unit called "The Plumbers", which fought against hostile aliens. His experience and equipment help Ben and Gwen out of great trouble more than once.
Recurring antagonists
- Vilgax is a vicious, intergalactic conqueror who wants to own the Omnitrix. After being badly injured in his first attempt at her, his body was cybernetic enhanced, making him an extremely dangerous opponent.
- Kevin 11 ( Kevin E. Levin ) is a boy with the ability to absorb energy. Through contact with the Omnitrix, he subsequently assumed an unexpected reunion, a monstrous hybrid of the original 10 alien forms, from which he cannot change back. He blames Ben for his condition and wants revenge on him.
- The shadow monster ( Ghostfreak / Zs'Skayr ), originally part of the Omnitrix, has been able to fully retain its original personality due to its special nature. Eventually he breaks out and tries to take over Ben's body and with it the Omnitrix. In his later attempt to irradiate the earth with Corrodium and envelop it in eternal darkness, alien versions of the mummy , the werewolf and Doctor Vicktor ( Frankenstein's monster) work for him.
In the Ben 10 Week event (April 2008) his real name was announced as Zs'Skayr . - Hex is a power-hungry master mage with a distinctive skull-like face paint. His main source of strength were the Bezell talismans, which were destroyed by Gwen.
- Fluchwerferin ( Charmcaster ) is Hex 'niece and apprentice in the magic. In the third season of the series, Gwen acquires her spell book and eventually learns to do magic herself.
- Doctor Animo is a mad animal scientist who wants to redefine evolution by creating mutant monsters . After getting behind the functions of the Omnitrix, he uses every opportunity that presents itself to 'improve' his creatures with it.
- The Eternal Knight ( The Forever Knights ), a secret society of masked knight, hoarding and studying alien technology, especially weapons systems. First appears Enoch as their leader, but the true leader of the organization is the Eternal King ( Forever King ), a former "plumber" named Driscoll.
- SixSix , ( Sixsix ) an alien bounty hunter .
- The Circus Freak Trio ( Circus Freak Trio ) is a group of three mutants named Poison Breath ( Acid Breath ), Steel Crusher ( Thumbskull ) and Frightwig ( Frightwig ), who use their special skills as thieves and henchmen .
- JT and Cash are two boys from Ben's class who like to bully weaker classmates. However, after Ben acquires the Omnitrix, he is only too happy to give them a sample of their own food in the form of XLR8.
- Vulcanus ( Vulcanus ), a very strong and pain-insensitive alien, thug and partner of SixSix.
The Omnitrix
Omnitrix, short for Omnimatrix, is a suitcase word from the Latin words omnis and matrix ; it literally means "all forms". The Omnitrix (plural: Omnitrixes [or dt. Proper Omnitrices]) is an extraterrestrial device that is about the size and appearance of a wristwatch. It was created by the Galvaner Azmuth as a kind of intergalactic ark . It stores genetic information from 1,000,903 intelligent life forms in the universe and thus the entire Milky Way , including some races that have since become extinct. In addition, if the Omnitrix comes into contact with an alien race that it does not yet have, it can record and save further genetic samples and thus also receive their information. When the wearer of the Omnitrix transforms into them, they also have their abilities. Since the Omnitrix connects to the wearer's DNA , it is not that easy to take off the watch-like device. For the sake of clarity, the well over a million aliens are grouped into groups of ten. So Ben can transform into ten aliens with the Omnitrix.
