Leonard Barrie "Barry" Corbin (born October 16, 1940 in Lamesa , Texas ) is an American film actor with more than 200 appearances in feature films and television series.

Life

Corbin is the son of Kilmer B. Corbin , a judge and senator of the US state of Texas (1948–1956), and Alma Scott Corbin, a teacher . He studied theater studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock . In Europe, Corbin was best known for his roles in the films WarGames , Ghost Dad and in Urban Cowboy alongside John Travolta . In Dallas he took on the role of Sheriff Fenton Washburn from 1979 to 1985. He also played the character of General Carville in the computer game C&C: Red Alert 2 . In the television series One Tree Hill he was seen in the role of coach Whitey Durham .

Corbin lives with his illegitimate daughter (* 1965) and his grandson on a ranch. He also has a son from his first marriage (* 1970) and two sons from his marriage to Susan Berger (* 1979, 1982). His second marriage ended in divorce in 1992.
