Wir sind die Rosinskis is a German comedy film directed by David Gruschka from 2016 . Anna Thalbach , Milan Peschel , Katharina Thalbach , Vincent Krüger , Nellie Thalbach , Emma Bading , Tilman Döbler and Daniel Krauss play the leading roles .

Peggy and Torben Rosinski and three children, whom Peggy has from three different men, live together in a little house that is more like a heap on the outskirts of Frankfurt an der Oder. Peggy works in a large cleaning company for little money and with this work keeps the family afloat. Her husband Torben has not had a job for months and tends to drink more canned beer than is good for him and the family. On Finn's birthday, of all times, the family's electricity is turned off. Peggy talks to her mother Angelika, who is stopping by on the occasion of her grandson's birthday. She offers Torben a paid job as a driver. Her brigade, as she puts it, brings agricultural machinery to Poland. With Peggy the alarm bells go off, because her mother is always involved in dubious business. Peggy then also prevents Torben from getting involved, since it can be assumed that the tractors have been stolen. Together with her husband, Peggy decides that Grandma will have died for all of them first. Your daughters are not exactly thrilled about it. With the Rosinskis, however, once plans are made, they don't take it very seriously and so everything is different again a short time later.
Angelique, the eldest daughter, dreams of opening a nail salon, while 15-year-old Michelle has dedicated herself to boxing. Finn, the youngest of the children, stands out because he is completely different from the rest of the family. He dreams of emigrating to "Oceania", where the water is so nice and warm. He has no idea that his mother invented Oceania when she took the children's bathrobe from the cleaning service, which belongs to the luxury hotel “Ozean”, as a birthday present for him.
When Peggy is released for the theft, the family faces permanent eviction. Mr Frank from the employment office offers Peggy a job as a cleaning assistant in the office in order to be able to humiliate her further, as he has often done in the past. Peggy assumes, but when Frank overdoes it, she literally cleans the table and sweeps his desk empty with a few hand movements. The eviction initiated by Frank follows immediately. However, the officer did not expect Angelika Rosinski, who shows up with her assistant Marek and intimidates Frank.
Peggy is now busy rushing to the aid of her daughter Michelle, who has engaged in a fight with the leader of a group of Nazi supporters. The rest of the family also rushes to help. Little Finn has now got into a car that says “Ocean”, as Malte, the boy from the neighboring house, tells the family when they come home. Immediately the family heads for this hotel, as Peggy thinks she knows where Finn was going. She finds Finn there too, but he wants to stay. Peggy explains to him that Oceania is where they all are - at home. Since Finn would like to have at least warm water at home, Peggy says she will take care of that now. And so she seeks out Michelle's father Maik, who is in prison, and wants him to reveal the hiding place of the stolen money, which he has not yet revealed. She only takes as much as she needs, she assures him. In fact, the money was always within reach, because it is hidden in a safe place in the house. Peggy takes the amount she needs for electricity and outstanding rent payments and brings it to Frank. This is more than angry and nagging, he can find out where the money comes from. The entire Rosinski family is enjoying a barbecue in the garden that evening.

The film Wir sind die Rosinskis , originally planned as a series , was shot under the working title Peggy - Life is not a pony farm from August 25 to September 23, 2015 in Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder) . The film was produced by Saxonia Media Filmproduktionsgesellschaft mbH . Daniel Krauss, who plays the role of Mr. Frank, also appeared as a producer, and the shooting of Soisson and Rotter goes back to his idea, which he developed together with Anika Soisson. The editing for ARD Degeto was with Carolin Haasis and Sascha Schwingel.

Torben is the dearest person in the world, but fails in the cold, harsh reality of Frankfurt and is not a great help to his wife, who rather has to protect him. He loves Peggy as much as she loves him. He is imaginative but also clumsy. Even as a househusband and father, he rested in himself. He didn't have to prove anything to others. He has a huge heart, in place not only for his son Finn, but also for Angelique and Michelle and even for his mother-in-law Angelika.
Michelle is "violence. Anger. Aggression. ”She is neurotic and boyish. When she falls asleep, she listens to black metal. Since she is very different from her classmates, she is often annoyed by them, or rather, by those who she does not yet know. The others know that Michelle will strike immediately, which is why no one really dares to approach her. Much to Michelle's regret, the boys from her grade too - even if she would never admit it. Although you don't notice it, her outsider role makes her difficult to create. In addition, she would feel like a Trabant even in her own family. There is the question about her father, who is not Torben, her sister, who is nightmarish in her eyes, and her mother, who she does not understand. Every now and then she shows feelings at Finn, which, however, is not allowed to tell anyone. Angelique's dream is to have her own nail salon that she and her boyfriend Devid would like to open. The young woman is "sexy, tough and lovable". Like her mother, she is unreflective, but anything but stupid. She looks good and has the talent for manipulation and uses "the advantages of her young, beautiful body mercilessly". In addition, she has "courage, speed and a snotty audacity". Angelique's friend Devid is a very simple young man, but who has a heart of gold and carries his girlfriend in his hands, she is the most important thing for him. He does everything for her. He was "good-natured, honest and a loyal soul". If it is necessary, he will strike once. Finn, the brother of the two sisters, is "special". The psychologists and therapists were also unable to form a final opinion about him. There was talk of a hidden Asperger's talent, but maybe he was "just a 'special' child". For Peggy he is her "sunshine, her greatest, most precious treasure, her heart, her light and her happiness". Finn is "innocent, in need of love and happy". You have to take off your hat to how his family treats him. He dreams of traveling to Oceania, an imaginary place by the sea.
Mr. Frank, the officer from the hardship department at the employment office, is “an asshole. Period. ”Even his mother didn't like him. He was "narrow-minded, petty minded" and also had "all the other negative qualities" that would come to mind. There is nothing positive about him. Unless one counts “ambition and tenacity as virtues of the elbow society”. Once Frank gets stuck, he won't let go. He has been fighting a guerrilla war with Peggy for years. The television film was broadcast for the first time on November 4, 2016 as part of the ARD theme week 2016 “Future of Work” in the program Das Erste. Previously, it was presented at the beginning of October 2016 at the Hamburg Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the producer's award. The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm pointed with the thumbs up, awarded two points for humor, one of three possible points for claim, action and suspense and came to the conclusion: "Zotenfrei mit Herz - a can of beer on it!"
Tilmann P. Gangloff gave the film five out of six possible stars on the tittelbach.tv website and summarized his criticism as follows: “Many German films are better off on television. The social comedy 'Wir sind die Rosinskis', staged with great attention to detail, on the other hand, would probably also work in the cinema thanks to its astonishing mix of understatement and luscious ancient gags. In addition to the screen star Milan Peschel, the film also has a real cast coup to offer: For the first time, the three Thalbach generations Katharina, Anna and Nellie stand together as leading actresses in front of the camera; of course as a grandma, daughter and granddaughter. The figures are invariably exaggerated, but are never exposed to ridicule. Remarkably sovereign debut by David Gruschka. ”The critic said the film had it all. The cast of the three Thalbach women alone: Katharina as grandmother, Anna as her daughter Peggy with an eighties Nena hairstyle and Nellie in her first leading role as Peggy's daughter Angelique is “a hit”. [...] This form of understatement is a delightful contrast to the sometimes striking comic situations. The music is also well chosen. The three Thalbachs are worth seeing anyway. "
Frank Jürgens from the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung also praised: "Just great: 'We are the Rosinskis' [...] is an excellent ensemble film with three generations of Thalbach." In this "somewhat different TV family film", "everything is just right". The scriptwriters succeed in "a lovable story from the societal sideline, which despite comical and also dramatic exaggerations cleverly avoids social clichés". Instead, “puns and great dialogues”, which the director “implemented with excellent timing”, would dominate.
The film service also focused on the Thalbachs and wrote: “Turbulent (television) comedy, tailored to the chemistry of the Thalbach actor family, which is represented by three generations of 'strong women'. - From 14. "
