The teacher couple Jochen and Ina Wenzel lead a happy life with their children. Both are extremely popular with their students and Ina is even said to be the new director of the school. One day the young teacher Tom Leuthner comes to the school. He begins to live an openly gay life, and Jochen soon realizes that he has fallen in love with Tom. Tom and Jochen start a passionate affair. When Ina finds out, a heated argument ensues between her and Jochen. Jochen finally confesses to Tom and leaves his family.

The film was invited to the competition at the Baden-Baden Television Film Festival in 2002. Tatjana Blacher received a special award for outstanding performance there.
