Thilo and Mona Wagner's marriage is crumbling a little. A holiday together to the largest Canary Island Tenerife should help. Arrived safely by plane, they drive to their hotel, where a boat with completely exhausted African refugees has just stranded. Among them is the eleven-year-old Jamaal, who turns to the Wagner couple who have just arrived with his grief, because he has heard that they come from Germany, where his father currently lives. Jamaal wants to spend the vacation together with the Wagners and then fly to Germany with them.
