Alejandro Herrera Arredondo

Alejandro Joaquín Herrera Arredondo (born April 22, 1970 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

Life

Herrera received his first professional contract with Club Atlas , for which he played a total of six appearances in the highest Mexican league in the 1990/91 and 1991/92 seasons. Because he was otherwise regularly only number 2 behind the regular goalkeeper Robert Siboldi , Herrera switched to city ​​rivals Club Deportivo Guadalajara in 1992 , where he made seven league appearances in the 1992/93 season, but remained only second choice. After a few more stints at Club Atlante and the UAT Correcaminos Herrera returned to Club Atlas, for which he came in the 1996/97 season only to a use behind the goalkeeper Erubey Cabuto.

After his active career, Herrera worked in 2014 as a goalkeeping coach for the U-15 selection team of the Tercera División and as an assistant coach for the Cazcanes de Ameca (2015) and the Coras de Nayarit (2019/20).
