Gernot Krää

Gernot Krää (* 1952 in Munich ) is a German screenwriter and film director .

Life

Gernot Krää grew up in Munich, studied political science and was engaged as a musician in various R&B bands and as a production, director and camera assistant (including films by Rainer Werner Fassbinder , Michael Fengler , Walter Bockmayer ). At the end of the 1970s he moved to England, where he worked as an assistant at the ARD Studio in London and participated in numerous reports from Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Australia.

In 1984 he returned to Munich, where he has since worked as a freelance writer and director for film and television, represented by the publishing house of the authors in Frankfurt am Main. He made his debut as a cinema director with the children's and youth film Die Distel . From 1999 to 2003, Krää was a board member of the Association of German Scriptwriters (VDD) and has been a member of the administrative board of VG WORT since 2001 .
