The Hansen Band was a Hamburg indie rock band that was founded by the actor Jürgen Vogel and musicians from the independent label Grand Hotel van Cleef for the film No songs about love .

history

For the film No Songs About Love , Jürgen Vogel, who plays a musician in this film, received a selection of 26 CDs that he listened to in order to find a musical genre for his fictional band. He especially liked the albums by Kettcar and Tomte , so he got in touch with these bands. Vogel and various musicians from the Grand Hotel van Cleef label founded the Hansen Band after a few rehearsals. They recorded eleven pieces, which also form the soundtrack of the semi-documentary film. In the meantime the Hansen Band has also performed live a few times. The Hansen Band played their last concert on December 14, 2005 in the "Bürgerhaus Stollwerck" in Cologne. At the beginning of 2007, statements by guitarists Thees Uhlmann , Marcus Wiebusch and, last but not least, Jürgen Vogel announced and confirmed further concerts. On July 6th, 7th and 8th 2007 the Hansen Band gave their supposedly definitely last three concerts at the Fest-van-Cleef -Festivals. New publications are not planned.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the record company Grand Hotel van Cleef , the Hansen band came together again for a gig on August 26, 2012 in Hamburg .
