Sabine Hiebler

Sabine Hiebler (* 1963 ) is a screenwriter , director and producer.

Live and act

Sabine Hiebler studied at the Art University Linz and works as a screenwriter, film director, producer and visual artist.

She has been working in a team with Gerhard Ertl since 1987 .

In the 1990s, Hiebler / Ertl jointly produced and staged avant-garde films that were invited and awarded at numerous international film festivals (Berlinale, New York Film Festival, Toronto, and many more).

In addition, Hiebler / Ertl exhibited photo and video works in the field of visual art, among others at the Neue Galerie Graz, Ars Electronica, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna and the Biennale de l'image Paris.

As a result, they turned to full-length films. The award-winning feature films “Nogo”, “ Early 80s ” (“Coming of Age”) and “Chucks” were made .

Sabine Hiebler is a board member of the Austrian Film Director Association , a member of the Austrian Script Association and a member of the Academy of Austrian Films .
