action
The unsuccessful fashion designer Jesko returns to the Swabian province after years without any contact with his family. He has leukemia and urgently needs a bone marrow donation, for which only his mother can be considered. However, she lives in a psychiatric institution. Jesko has to deal with the hated father and his brother.
criticism
"Excessive psychological drama that lacks narrative density and that has nothing more to offer than a series of thematic set pieces."
"Kraus and his great ensemble let this film, which always gets down to the nitty-gritty, pulsate with life and passion. A relentless and yet hopeful rubble film about family ties, sad and humorous, brutal and loving." - THE MIRROR
