action

Ferdi thinks himself ugly and is lonely. He meets Jonah, who pretends to be blind to him. She moves in with her actually blind cousin Cécile. He organized her a job with the club owner Björn. The two get closer, Jonah struggles with when she reveals to him that she is not really blind.

Cécile falls in love with Björn and tells him that Jona is not blind. Björn, who is in love with Jona, attacks Ferdi, who is saved by Jona at the last moment. This means that Ferdi knows.

production

Blind & ugly was co-produced with the ZDF editorial team, Das kleine Fernsehspiel . As with the two films Papa Gold and Kaptn Oskar previously directed by Lass, a large part of the otherwise customary formulated script was dispensed with. Accordingly, both the dialogues and the actors' explicit actions were improvised and thus arose spontaneously at the moment of the filming.

For financial reasons as well as to maintain the constant opportunity for spontaneity and improvisation, the use of lighting technology was completely dispensed with during the shooting .
