Jutta Pohlmann
Jutta Pohlmann (born June 9, 1968 in Korbach , Hessen) is a German camerawoman (Director of Photography).
Life
After graduating from high school, Jutta Pohlmann gained her first experience at the Tisch School of Arts , New York University , where she completed the summer course "Beginning Film Production" in 1991. From 1991 to 1997 she studied camera and directing at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest , Hungary. Since 1995 Pohlmann has been working as a freelance camerawoman for feature films, advertising and music videos. She lives in Berlin. She has received several awards for her work. Jutta Pohlmann is a member of the German Film Academy and the Federal Camera Association BVK. She has been teaching cinematography since 1997 and since January 2020 she has been professor for "Director of Photography" at the International Film School (IFS), Cologne.
Jutta Pohlmann made ten feature films and twelve TV films. She also used the camera on over 250 commercials, 25 short films, over 36 music videos and ten documentaries. She directed and camera on some projects. In winter 2015 she was a camera mentor for the feature film Kati Kati in Kenya (Africa), which was produced as part of Tom Tykwers . In 2010 she gave a guest lecture at the Berlin University of the Arts on the topic of “How to tell a story visually”. From 1998 to 1999 she taught the “Camera Techniques” course at the Kaskeline Film Academy Berlin.
