Sturla Brandth Grøvlen
Sturla Brandth Grøvlen (born March 11, 1980 in Trondheim , Norway ) is a Norwegian cameraman .
Life
Sturla Grøvlen studied film history and theory at Lillehammer University from 2000 to 2001 and then attended the European Film College in Ebeltoft , Denmark from 2001 to 2002 . From 2003 to 2006 he studied photography at the Bergen Art and Design School and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree . In the following years from 2007 to 2011, Grøvlen finally completed a film degree at the Copenhagen Film School .
Grøvlen directed the camera in the drama I Am Here by Anders Morgenthaler with Kim Basinger and Sebastian Schipper in the leading roles. Schipper then hired Grøvlen as cameraman for his film Victoria , which was shot with only one camera shot of 140 minutes. As part of the competition at the 65th Berlinale , Grøvlen received the Silver Bear for an outstanding artistic achievement.
The artist lives and works in Copenhagen . In addition to his mother tongue, he is fluent in Danish and English.
