Lukas Marxt

Lukas Marxt (* 1983 in Schladming ) is an Austrian artist who works primarily with the medium of film. He lives in Cologne .

In Marxt's film work, strategies and aesthetics of the documentary, but also of performance art and land art can be found. The films are often characterized by minute-long shots or subjective cameras . The soundtrack largely unprocessed reproduces the sound created during the filming process, thus often also the own noises or instructions of the artist himself. From 2003 and 2004 he began studying environmental systems science and geography at the Karl-Franzens-University , Graz, and then studying audiovisual design in Linz until 2009 . In 2007 he was a visiting student for Art & Multimedia at Belas Artes Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal. From 2009 to 2012 he completed postgraduate studies at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne.
