history

The research center emerged from the Research Center for Legal Issues of University and Administrative Modernization (ReH..Mo), which was established in 2004. The rededication was made by resolution of the Faculty Council of the Law Faculty on May 4, 2011. It takes account of the fact that the focus of the research work has shifted. In the last few years the research center has dealt with broad questions of IT law and legal-political challenges of technical developments in the state, economy and society. The 2010 symposium was dedicated to civil rights after the digital revolution and the 2011 symposium to smart life. Opportunities and risks of a totally digitized everyday life . The publications, reports and lectures have also left the narrow focus of university and administrative modernization. In addition to IT law, the network policy is eponymous. This term has become established for the legal policy of the new technologies: for example at the network dialogue between the Federal Minister of the Interior and the Minister for Consumer Protection or at the network congress of the CSU, where the head of the research center was or is represented. The combination of legal dogmatics and legal policy also corresponds to the research and advisory profile of the research center.
