action

The protagonist, a young woman named Ania, lives secluded in a prefabricated housing estate in Halle-Neustadt . In her job as an IT specialist in an advertising agency, she is bullied by her tyrannical boss Boris, who is also drawn to her. One day, on her way home from work, Ania runs into a stray wolf . The encounter with the wild animal creates a strong attraction in Ania. Her thoughts are increasingly revolving around the wolf, which she is gradually trying to get close to, for example by howling at night, buying him meat or even live rabbits for food. She decides to bring the wolf to her home; in fact, she succeeds in stunning the animal and bringing it into her apartment.

While she subsequently neglects her interpersonal contacts - with colleagues, but also with her sister, for example - Ania begins at the same time to freely act out her instincts. On the outside, it appears increasingly neglected, but also self-confident and sexually liberated. This reflects the gradually more intense and intimate relationship with the wolf, with whom she now literally lives together. She begins a kind of love affair with the animal. Finally, there is a final break with Boris and her work in the agency. In the end, Ania breaks completely into the wild with the wolf.

Movie review

“Soon the boundaries between hunter and prey, human and animal will crumble. The film convincingly tells of the "becoming animal" as liberation from the constraints of civilization, whereby the wilderness is not spelled out as a loss of control, but as a gain in emancipation. "
