Bettina Brokemper

Bettina Brokemper (born in Cologne ) is a German film producer .

Life

Bettina Brokemper studied production and media management at the HFF Munich from 1993 to 1997 . After this time she worked for two years in Los Angeles on a grant (GWFF). Since 2001 she has headed the Cologne office of the Danish film company Zentropa . In 2003 she founded the Heimatfilm production company .

Her greatest successes include Falscher Bekenner (premiere in the section “Un Certain Regard”, Festival de Cannes 2005), Bal - Honig (including Golden Bear 2010), Dreileben - Eine Minute Dunkel (including Grimmepreis 2012), Hannah Arendt (including German Film Prize in Silver 2013) and Wild (including the German Film Prize in Bronze 2017). Just one day was awarded the German Film Critics' Prize for Best Children's Film 2017.

In 2020 she was appointed to the competition jury of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival .

Bettina Brokemper is a member of the European and the German Film Academy and was awarded the “Prix Eurimages” in 2008 for outstanding European co-productions. In 2014 she received the award of the Cologne Cultural Council “Cultural Manager of the Year 2013”. She was also a member of the board of directors of Rendez-vous franco-allemands du cinéma from 2010 to 2016.
