occupation

Die Spielwütigen is a documentary (2004) by Andres Veiel , who accompanies four students from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin ( Prodromos Antoniadis , Constanze Becker , Karina Plachetka and Stephanie Stremler ) throughout their studies.

The long-term documentation over seven years shows the rocky road to your dream job. The drama students are among the few who have been selected from more than 1,000 applicants for a given year and have been admitted to study at the Academy of Dramatic Arts.

For Die Spielwütigen , director and screenwriter Andres Veiel was awarded the Panorama Audience Prize at the Berlinale 2004 and the German Film Critics' Prize for the best documentary.

criticism

“He precisely draws the background, motifs and doubts and at the same time asks about the price for success. In doing so, he circles subtly and sensitively around the dynamics of feelings and condenses the many particles with haunting and charming details into dramatic stories of initiation. "

“Director Andres Veiel ('Black Box BRD') accompanied the four drama students in a documentary for over seven years and thus shows a complex picture of young people on their way into the ruthless adult life. The camera observes so skilfully that you suffer more and more with the four students or share their joy. So it is not surprising that this work has already been awarded several prizes. "
