Nesrin Şamdereli (* 1979 in Dortmund ) is a German - Turkish screenwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school, she began writing as a lecturer at Kinowelt . At the same time, she wrote various scripts for short films, most of which were directed by her sister Yasemin Şamdereli or Nesrin Şamdereli, who also acted as co-authors . In 2009 she graduated from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) . Her first feature film, the comedy Alles Getürkt , ran in 2003, starring Bürger Lars Dietrich , Türkiz Talay and Hilmi Sözer , on ProSieben . Şamdereli's short film Kısmet (2002), which was also written together with her sister, was nominated as “best film” for the Max Ophüls Prize . An episode of the multi-award-winning television series Turkish for Beginners (2006) also came from the pens of the sisters. At the end of 2009 they both shot their cinema debut Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland . The comedy about the identity of Turkish guest workers in Germany was released in March 2011 and ran out of competition a month earlier in the competition program of the 61st Berlinale . For this film, Nesrin and Yasemin Şamdereli received the German Film Prize 2011 in gold for the best screenplay, Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland was also awarded the film prize in silver in the category of best feature film.

Nesrin Şamdereli first directed the film adaptation of her screenplay Delicious (2004). At Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland she was responsible for directing the second unit .

Şamdereli has been a partner in S2R Filmproduktion GmbH since March 2013 , which she founded together with her sister Yasemin Şamdereli and the producer Anja-Karina Richter.

Private

Şamdereli's parents come from Alevi - Zaza families from the Tunceli and Erzincan provinces in Turkey. She lives in Berlin with her husband, the actor Tristan Seith .
