Andrew Bird (film editor)
Andrew D. Bird (* 1957 in London ) is a British film editor and translator . He lives in Hamburg .
Life
Andrew Bird works in dialogue directing, script, editing, assistant editing and sound editing for both documentaries and feature films. He has worked on almost all of Fatih Akin's films , which have received numerous awards.
In 2008 Bird was awarded the German Film Prize in the Best Editing category for his work on the film On the Other Side (2007). In the same year he also received one of the awards from the Association of German Film Critics . For the Editor of Soul Kitchen , he received in 2010 a nomination for the prize of the German Film Critics , as well as for the German Film Prize .
Andrew Bird has lived in Hamburg since the late 1970s and was appointed a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg in 2013 . He is also a member of the German Film Academy .
