Carolin Genreith (* 1984 in Aachen ) is a German director and writer of documentary films.
life and work
Carolin Genreith grew up in Steckenborn in the North Eifel. She studied television journalism in Berlin , worked for film and television production companies as an assistant director and co-author, and in a art house cinema. In 2013, her debut film The Dance with Your Belly (Production: Hupe Film, Editing: Jutta Krug, WDR) premiered at the 63rd Berlinale in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino. A theatrical release in Germany and Austria followed in the summer (50,000 viewers, distributor: Zorro Film ), and in 2014 the TV first broadcast of Die mit dem Bauch Tanz on ARD . At the Festival of German Films she received the audience award for her debut . At the beginning of 2014, Genreith was nominated as co-author for the Grimme Prize with Mr. Eppert sucht die Boss and won the ARD documentary pitch on the topic of home with her synopsis for the film Das Golddorf . The Golddorf premiered in 2015 at the Dokfest Munich and was broadcast on ARD. Her third long documentary, Happy , premiered on November 2, 2016 in the German Competition of the DOK Leipzig , then screened at the Kassel Documentary and Video Festival and was awarded the Rheinische Post Audience Award at the Duisburg Film Week .
