Aiglëis
Aiglëis ( ancient Greek Αἰγληίς ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Hyakinthos , who moved from Sparta to Athens .
When Minos does not succeed in taking Athens during his campaign, he asks Zeus for assistance. This sends the city of famine and plague ( λιμοῦ τε καὶ λοιμοῦ ). Following an old oracle, Aiglëis is sacrificed by the Athenians together with her sisters Antheïs , Lytaia and Orthaia over the grave of Cyclops Geraistos as a defense .
