Hansjörg Weißbrich
Hansjörg Weißbrich (born February 6, 1967 in Siegen ) is a German film editor .
life and work
Weißbrich grew up in the district of Hofolpe in the municipality of Kirchhundem . After graduating from high school, he studied music, French as well as theater, film and television studies in Dortmund and Bochum. After a few assistants in editing, the cinema production Nach Fünf im Urwald (1995) becomes his first feature-length film as an independent editor; since he was in almost all films by director Hans-Christian Schmid for mounting responsible.
In 2000, Weißbrich received the German Television Prize for his work on the film Women Lie Better . Ten years later he received the German Film Prize for his work on the feature film Sturm (2010) . Another nomination followed in 2011 for work on Andres Veiel's feature film debut Who if Not Us . In 2014, Hansjörg Weißbrich was again awarded the German Film Prize for best editing for the film Zwei Leben by director Georg Maas . In the same year he received the German Camera Prize for Traumland .
Hansjörg Weißbrich is a member of the German Film Academy and was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2018 , which awards the Oscars every year. He is also a member of the Federal Association of Film Editing Editor eV (BFS) .
