action

Ben is a trendy and self-confident mid-twenties who works for a major music magazine in Berlin. His two friends Christian and Alf are always at his side. Christian works for the same magazine as Ben, Alf is a pharmacist who likes to mix new drugs from different drugs. After he moved his younger friend Katharina again on her birthday and prefers to go to a party, she breaks up with him. That throws the otherwise so cool Ben completely off track. First he holed up in his apartment for nine days, then he tried to rush back to life. But he has to think about Katharina all the time and finds himself in several embarrassing situations. The climax is reached by faking his suicide to get his ex-girlfriend back. Only when he is in the ambulance on the way to the clinic and Katharina confesses her love for him does Ben realize how deep he has sunk. He just gets up from the stretcher and runs away. He spends the next few days working through his relationship with Katharina by writing down her story. When Katharina wanted to say goodbye to him because she was going to London for six months, she discovered the sheets of the unfinished manuscript in Ben's apartment. Ben himself is not at home because he has to help his friend Christian. So she texted him asking how his story will end and informing him of her imminent departure. Ben runs off immediately and arrives at the bus station at the last moment. There the two are reconciled and travel to London together.

criticism

"A film adaptation of a bestseller of pop literature with all the ingredients of the German teen comedy, which deliberately navigates its way through the idle action with a striving youthful esprit and appropriate actors."

“One of the typical teen comedies about love, friendship and the young generation's attitude to life. The film was based on Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre's bestseller of the same name. The over-the-top story relies particularly on the consistently good actors, but still seems as if one has read and seen everything before. Nevertheless: lots of funny ideas ensure the best entertainment. "

“Solo album [...] shows how quickly the zeitgeist can evaporate. The story of a young music journalist [...] almost seems out of date. The film, directed by Gregor Schnitzler, tries too hard to make its heroes look casual and tries hard to be cool comedy. The joy of playing and charm of the main actors Matthias Schweighöfer and Nora Tschirner are of little help. "
