Johannes Naber (born May 28, 1971 in Baden-Baden ) is a German film director , screenwriter and cameraman .

Live and act

Johannes Naber studied at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and graduated in 1999 with a diploma in directing documentary film . This was followed by several documentaries, some of which were full-length, and a career as a gaffer.

He lives and works in Berlin.

Career

He worked on his first feature film, the migration drama Der Albaner , for almost ten years. In 2010 the film was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize and the Silver George of the Moscow International Film Festival ; many national and international awards followed. His second full-length feature film, Zeit der Kannibalen, premiered in 2014 in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the Berlinale . The film was awarded the German Film Prize in bronze and voted best film of 2015 by the Association of German Film Critics .

In autumn 2016, his third feature film, Das kalte Herz, was released . At the Berlinale 2020 , Naber presented the feature film Curveball , which deals with the agent affair of the same name .
