Five to 12 in Caracas is a German-Italian-French action film from 1966 with Giorgio Ardisson , Harald Leipnitz and Horst Frank in the leading roles.

The millionaire's daughter and amateur journalist Helen Remington is currently in Venezuela in order to undertake dangerous research into a dangerous drug gang. She finds a hot lead in the wicked nightclub "El Molino" (The Mill), where she stopped under a false name. When she hacked the results of her research into her typewriter on a lonely beach the next day, she was unceremoniously anesthetized and kidnapped by two southern men. After her father has not heard from her for a long time, he becomes very worried and hires private detective Jeff Milton to find his daughter. He also visits the "El Molino", where he hooks up with the beautiful Florence and also seems suspicious to him. After he left the shed again, he was knocked down in a taxi and kidnapped with the same. When he wakes up again in a locked room, he is confronted with two strong guys who are supposed to keep an eye on him. A mysterious voice from the loudspeaker gives him instructions.
But Jeff, who is able to break free, does not take care of the arrangements and is soon embroiled in a murder case: A young animator who wanted to help him was killed with a stab in the heart. The police believe Jeff is the culprit. He is arrested by the state when he receives unexpected help in the form of the pipe-smoking Interpol inspector Alan Shepperton. Shepperton asks Milton for help, because the drug smuggling that is at stake here is being raised very big. The fabric comes from Hong Kong, is reloaded in Caracas and then goes to the United States. Soon there is a new corpse, and Jeff no longer just has to find the blonde Helen, he also has to help Shepperton to smash a drug ring and to expose the creepy puller in the background, the big boss. He has to discover that there is a leak in the police, a traitor who always tells the gangsters what the state power is planning. In the end, Jeff has his hands full to prevent an attack on Venezuelan oil rigs off the Caribbean coast.
Production notes
Five to 12 in Caracas was the last of Wolf C. Hartwig's action film productions for a long time (until 1969) , which he had set in exotic locations. The film premiered in Germany on September 9, 1966.
Ludwig Spitaler was in charge of production. The film structures were designed by Peter Rothe . Erwin Lange took care of the special effects. Walter Boos directed the second team (action sequences), assisted by cameraman Klaus Werner .
The film is a typical Eurotrash product, one of numerous internationally co-produced agent films that were made as a result of the great success of the James Bond film series in the mid-1960s.
