Pascale Audret

Pascale Audret (born October 12, 1935 in Neuilly-sur-Seine , † July 17, 2000 at Brive-la-Gaillarde ; born Pascale Aiguionne Louise Jacqueline Marie Auffray ) was a French actress .

life and work

The sister of the French chanson singer Hugues Aufray grew up in Spain. At the age of twelve she received piano and violin training and two years later dance and ballet lessons. This was followed by an acting degree.

Until 1955 she worked as a choir singer and dancer on Parisian operetta and revue stages and as an announcer and small actor in cabarets. She celebrated her first theatrical success in 1957 as the heroine in The Diary of Anne Frank .

Then she was offered larger roles in both entertainment films and artistically ambitious films. For her role as Hortense in the natural drama When the flood comes - by director François Villiers , who received the Golden Globe for best foreign language film in 1959 - she was awarded the Étoile de Cristal for best actress . She fulfilled another important task in 1959, portraying the heroine in the religious drama Sacrifice of a Nun .

Private life

Audret was married to Francis Dreyfus from 1965 to 1973 . Their daughter Julie Dreyfus (* 1966) emerged from the marriage, who also started an acting career.

Pascale Audret died at the age of 64 as a passenger in a traffic accident.
