Elke Twiesselmann (born May 31, 1927 in Hamburg ) is a German actress and radio play speaker .
Life
Elke Twiesselmann was born on May 31, 1927 in Hamburg. After graduating from high school, she studied literature and art history for three semesters at the university in her hometown, after which she trained as an actress at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Twiesselmann had various engagements on smaller stages before she belonged to the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum for 12 years . In 1972 she moved to the State Theater in Stuttgart , where she still appears as a guest today.
Her favorite roles include the Hecabe in Euripides ' Die Troerinnen and Winnie in Happy Days by Samuel Beckett . In 1973 she also played old Papagena in Mozart's Magic Flute in the world premiere of Franz Xaver Kroetz 's request concert and at the Stuttgart State Opera . Twiesselmann was last seen in 2015 at the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen in a production of Goethe's Faust with only two female actors, in which she embodied Mephisto , Wagner and Gretchen . Together with the singer and musician Wilma Heuken , Twiesselmann has been reciting texts by the poet Mascha Kaléko since 2000 .
Elke Twiesselmann also occasionally works for television. She made her debut in 1968 in Helga Feddersen 's first television play Vier Hours von Elbe 1 in the role of Elli Andresen . She embodied this in the two subsequent productions Gezeiten and Im Fahrwasser , for which Helga Feddersen also wrote the scripts. In addition to other guest appearances in St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken , Onkel Bräsig or the Tatort episode Rot - rot - tot , she gained great popularity thanks to the series Kümo Henriette, again written by Helga Feddersen , in which she played one of the leading roles in 28 episodes as Margot Petermann .
Since 1959, Elke Twiesselmann has also been a guest in numerous radio productions, including speaking in episodes 1 and 2 of the crime play Paul Temple and the Geneva case in 1966 and the title character in Goethe's Iphigenie auf Tauris in 1969 . In addition, she taught role studies at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts for 24 years .
