content

The young Berliner Tony has made three things for her life and noted them on a poster: Don't lie, stay a virgin and ride a Harley-Davidson once . She crosses point one because of her previous life experience, but the current situation is much worse. She has not paid her rent for two months and before the landlord throws her out of the apartment that evening, she prefers to go voluntarily - with an empty bird cage, a suitcase and several books, which she immediately passes on to a friend. The only one in Berlin she knows only briefly is the antiques smuggler Rolf Olvedi. She moves in with him, but doesn't want to start a relationship with him. They jokingly bet about their virginity, but soon they part ways because Rolf is more and more surprised by the police.

Tony hitchhiked to Munich with some of the stolen pieces of jewelry from Rolf's apartment . Here she met the young inventor Stefan and soon moved into his apartment. She starts a relationship with him, who is the opposite of Rolf, and soon crosses point two off her list. Stefan got it into his head to invent dry skis that are powered by a motor. To register his invention with the patent office, he needs money. Tony gets part of it by moving the stolen jewelry, Stefan's friend Rainer wants to contribute another part - when Tony meets with him to hand over the check. She agrees and can also appease the jealous Stefan. In the disco she not only meets Rainer, but also Rolf. While Rainer leaves a short time later and Tony leaves a high check, Rolf persuades Tony to go to one of his contacts and give him an ominous bag. In the specified apartment, however, there is no contact person, but the police, who take Tony to the station. She succeeds in pretending to be innocent so that she can go the next morning. Stefan in turn thinks she spent the night with Rainer and Tony packs her things disappointed. She can no longer believe that he loves her.

She flies back to Berlin and moves back into Rolf's accommodation - this time a posh villa that he shares with dozens of white rabbits. Rolf has just made 70,000 DM with his criminal business and now only wants to do honest work. Surprisingly, Stefan appears on a prototype of his dry ski and shows it to Rolf. He has now found his new business idea and both men forget the woman in the league over their future plans. So Tony packs her things again and moves out. She stops a Harley-Davidson driver in front of Rolf's villa, who takes her, her suitcase and the empty birdcage with him. Point three of the list has now also been fulfilled.

criticism

The Lexicon of International Films wrote that the “film contained some delightful snapshots and atmospheric images from the lives of young people at the end of the 1960s, which in their authentic freshness had a documentary character.” Marran Gosov said the film was “in the style of his little angels '-Comedies staged as cinema entertainment with a light hand. "

The film service criticized The guy loves me - and should I believe that? as "only partly funny and with some slips and lengths". The Evangelische Film-Beobachter comes to a similar assessment : "Despite sweetheart Uschi Glas and some borrowings from the 'Jungfrau von Bamberg', this [...] film about the amorous experiences of a girl between Munich and Berlin turned out to be a very narrow film comedy."
