Jane Seitz

Jane Seitz (actually Juliane Sperr ; * August 17, 1942 ; † January 4, 1988 ) was a German film editor .

Live and act

Jane Seitz was responsible for the film editing of various productions by Bernd Eichinger and was his girlfriend. She also worked as an editor for Hark Bohm , Paul Verhoeven and other directors.

Seitz committed suicide at the age of 45. She left a daughter, Lisa Seitz.

In 1988/89 Wolfgang Rihm set the text of Seitz 'then partner Wolf Wondratschek Mein Tod to music . Requiem in memoriam Jane S. for soprano and orchestra. His volume of poetry Carmen or Am I the asshole of the eighties is dedicated to her. In the film Rossini - or the murderous question of who slept with whom , the side story of the character Valerie woven into the main plot is based on the real person of the editor Jane Seitz.
