Katja Eichinger , née Hofmann (born April 20, 1971 in Volkmarsen ) is a German journalist and author .
Career
Katja Hofmann attended school in Kassel and went to London, where she studied communication science and film theory at the British Film Institute . She worked as a script editor and press officer in the USA . She then worked as a film journalist in London and wrote for Variety , Esquire and the Financial Times , in Germany for Vogue and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . In 2008 she wrote a book for the feature film The Baader Meinhof Complex with the title The Baader Meinhof Complex. The book about the film , which is closely based on the book of the same name by Stefan Aust .
From December 2006 until his death from a heart attack on January 24, 2011, she was married to the film producer Bernd Eichinger (1949–2011). In September 2012 she published a biography about him.
She lives in Munich.
