Comeback is a music film by Christel Buschmann in which rock singer Eric Burdon plays the leading role. The film was in Munich on 23 April 1982 premiered and came in the same year in German cinemas. On October 8, 1984 Comeback was broadcast on ARD at 11 p.m.

The once famous singer Rocco lives in Los Angeles with his drug addict wife Tina and has to flee from the Mafia. He finds himself in the metropolis of Berlin and then makes his comeback there with a new contract.
When he's finished with acclaimed punks , the problems start again.

The German cinema premiere of the film took place on April 23, 1982 in Munich . The public interest was limited, by the end of 1982 Comeback in the Federal Republic had only 15,419 paying visitors. The soundtrack LP Comeback (with ten titles) came out in the same year and was significantly more successful than the film. In 1994 the CD The Comeback Soundtrack came out and contained a total of 27 tracks, including unreleased versions of songs.
criticism
The lexicon of international film judged: “In the concert recordings and the music appealing, the film fails to take up the deeper references of the topic. So it stays fashionably chic on the surface and varies clichés about the lifestyle of rock stars ”. During the television broadcast of the film, Der Spiegel stated: "Christel Buschmann's second film (1982) lives primarily from the explosive vitality of the Rocco actor Eric Burdon."
